Your first visit in our office will include a personal consultation with our doctors. You will find this visit to be extremely informative. Once you have arrived and checked in, you will be greeted by one of our Patient Coordinators. If you have already filled out and returned your Health History information, we will have already contacted your general dentist, and obtained the necessary information regarding your history. This form can be sent out to you when the consultation is scheduled, or you may download it from our website.
If you have orthodontic insurance, we will make a copy of your insurance card, and contact your insurance company to verify your coverage.
Our Patient Coordinator will assist our doctors in completing your clinical evaluation, and in assessing your orthodontic needs. The doctors will share their recommendations for treatment with you, and we will be able to give you an estimate of the type of treatment that may be necessary. We are happy to answer any questions you may have, and will always do everything we can to make certain that the consultation is as informative as possible. If treatment is indicated, then an orthodontic diagnostic work-up will also be explained to you. For some children who do not yet have all their permanent teeth, a consultation is sometimes recommended to determine the need for early or interceptive treatment to address any growth discrepancies. If treatment is not indicated at that time, the child will stay under observation with us to monitor their dental development, and these re-evaluation visits are complimentary until the child is ready to begin treatment. Once the diagnostic work-up has been completed, you will be scheduled for a treatment conference with our doctors. At the treatment conference appointment, the doctors will personally review all of their findings, and discuss the details of the recommended treatment. This is usually the best opportunity to make certain that all of your questions about orthodontic treatment are answered.
Due to the technology now available to us, all of the clinical photographs and x-rays that we obtain for you will be posted on a password protected site that you can access from home at any time.
