By now most people have figured out that life is necessarily perfect all the time; however, that doesn’t mean that your teeth and smile can’t be perfect. Even someone with naturally crooked teeth and a significant malocclusion can get the even beautiful that they’ve always wanted thanks to Indianapolis braces
from Sondhi-Biggs-Hansen Orthodontics. Our practice uses the latest techniques and technology such as digital and 3-D imaging to develop and implement a personalized orthodontic treatment plan for each patient.
Patients of all ages are now taking advantage of orthodontics to improve their appearance and bite. While there are lots of options available to our doctors when developing a treatment plan most patients will use some form of braces at some point during their treatment. There are several types of Indianapolis braces
that our practice uses. The most commonly used braces are the traditional metal braces. These highly effective braces place metal brackets on the teeth, which are connected by arch wires. The tension on the wires puts pressure on the teeth to move in the desired manner. While traditional braces work well many patients, especially adults and older teens do not like the metallic look of these braces. An alternative to metal braces is ceramic braces, so-called invisible braces. Instead of metal brackets and arch wires these braces use tooth-colored or clear ceramic brackets, which are connected via clear plastic arch wires making them very hard to see. Ceramic braces are a little more brittle than metal braces and require more delicate care.
Another option is the Invisalign System, which does not use brackets or arch wires like Indianapolis braces
but moves the teeth through the use of clear plastic trays called aligners. These snug fitting aligners fit over the teeth and as the patient goes through wearing a custom developed series of aligners the teeth gently move into the proper position. Aligners are removable for meals.
